Design

Design is where the desired functionality of the device is defined, such as its physical and electrical features. At Kyocera Technologies, our advanced use of simulation minimizes the number of iterations needed for a final product.

Processing

Once the design is created, then the product is processed with multiple different types of processing equipment. The processes created for the products in our R&D are later transferred to manufacturing and for that we focus also on manufacturing yield for example.

Testing

Testing is the phase where we see if the design works as planned and if there is sufficient yield for example. It provides us the information to decide whether the design and process are sufficient for the product of if further design or process development is needed.

With the original buildings designed by the famous architect Alvar Aalto, the park-like Otaniemi campus area hosts many areas of top research. Kyocera Technologies is located at Micronova, a facility built for the research of micro and nanotechnology. The clean room, for example, is one of the best of its kind.
